The Story Emerges

This series of artwork came from a deep sense of wanting to have a place to rest and be somewhere else if only for a few minutes. These works were created in the months leading up to and after the election, and were a welcome respite to work on during that time. It is my hope that they will offer the same rest to those who view them, a reminder that rest is resistance and so is creating art that inspires joy and wonder during dark times. These paintings and the paintings of Susan Gredell are being shown at Fancy Plants Cafe in Chicago through March 8th, 2025.

Hidden Harbor, a collaboration with fellow artist Susan Gredell depicts a serene, magical harbor at the perfect time of day. Let yourself be immersed in these scenes and let the stories emerge. These panels are watercolor paper approx. 3’ x 4’, watercolor, acrylic, collage.
